Brethren and Mennonites share values, heritage, and history. At the Youth Connect, youth from both Brethren and Mennonite churches get together to share service work, food (hot dogs and popcorn), worship, fellowship, and game playing on the Heritage Center campus.
Professor Nancy Heisey from Eastern Mennonite University will share about the relationship between Brethren and Mennonites. Prof. Heisey grew up in the Church of the Brethren and now works at a Mennonite institution and is a member of a Mennonite church.
Retired minister Paul Roth will share a personal story, connecting it to a historical story from the Shenandoah Valley. Rev. Roth is formerly of the Linville Creek Church of the Brethren and currently president of the John Kline Homestead and member of the board at the Brethren & Mennonite Heritage Center.
Youth and sponsors will worship together in the natural amphitheater setting, then enjoy different games on the hill-top campus.
