Worship in the Woods

  • Brethren & Mennonite Heritage Center 1921 Heritage Center Way Harrisonburg, VA, 22801 United States (map)

Worship in the Woods is the summer vespers series of the Brethren & Mennonite Heritage Center. Join us Sundays at 7 PM from June 27 through August 15 in our beautiful, outdoor, wooded amphitheater!

Please bring your own lawn chair for seating. An offering will be taken to support the ongoing mission of the Heritage Center. Parking is available in the field at the top of our hill. Golf cart assistance is available for those who wish it; if handicap parking is needed at the bottom of the amphitheater, please request it when you arrive.

In case of inclement weather, the service will be moved to the Log House and parking signs will be relocated to that area.

Our service on June 27 will feature Roy Good as storyteller, with Simply Folk providing special music.

Roy Good, a talented storyteller, will read a few of his Bible Stories like you’ve never heard before. Roy Good is the author of the Bible Story books, “My Side of the Story” and “Who, Me? Yes, You! : Bible Stories Like You've Never Heard Them Before.” His storytelling appeals to a wide range of ages.

Roy has served as a pastor, bus and truck driver, and a creator of beautiful wooden writing pens. He has a quick wit and a ready smile, but he can comfort a family who has lost a loved one... or as he says "graduated." He enjoys riding his three-wheeled motor cycle while his wife of sixty years, Kathy, crochets on the back. They are parents of four children, plus nine grandchildren and nine great grand children.
