Worship in the Woods is the summer vespers series of the Brethren & Mennonite Heritage Center. Join us Sundays at 7 PM from June 25 through August 6 in our beautiful, outdoor, wooded amphitheater!
Our service on July 16 will feature Kathy Puffenbarger as speaker, with Mountain High Rise providing special music.
Kathy Puffenbarger was born and raised in Staunton, VA. She has been an entrepreneur, activities director, and full-time caregiver for her mom and husband.
In 1997, Kathy sensed the calling of God to go into the ministry work. For seventeen and a half years, she and her husband Tim held the Sunday morning chapel service for the residents and staff at Loyalton Assisted Living in Staunton.
Kathy has been pastor at Elk Run COB, associate pastor at Briery Branch COB, and is currently the “first” female pastor at Garbers COB in Harrisonburg, a congregation that celebrated its bicentennial in 2022. She has one son, Kenley, and one beagle grand-dog, Daisy. She lives with her own little fur baby Pomeranian, Mandy, in the town of Bridgewater.
Please bring your own lawn chair for seating. An offering will be taken to support the ongoing mission of the Heritage Center. Parking is available in the field at the top of our hill. Golf cart assistance is available for those who wish it; if handicap parking is needed at the bottom of the amphitheater, please request it when you arrive.
In case of inclement weather, the service will be moved to the Log House and parking signs will be relocated to that area.
