Worship in the Woods

  • Brethren & Mennonite Heritage Center 1921 Heritage Center Way Harrisonburg, VA, 22801 United States (map)

Worship in the Woods is the summer vespers series of the Brethren & Mennonite Heritage Center. Join us Sundays at 7 PM from June 22 through August 10 in our beautiful, outdoor, wooded amphitheater!

Our service on July 13 will feature Terri Luzynski as speaker, with Lehman Trombones providing special music.

Terri Luzynski has been the pastor at Montezuma Church of the Brethren since November, 2022. Prior to that, she served as the interim pastor at Mill Creek Church of the Brethren in Columbia, North Carolina and as the Director of Christian Education at Williamson Road Church of the Brethren in Roanoke, Virginia. Terri is a graduate of Kentucky Wesleyan College and Harvard Law School. She was ordained as a minister in the Church of the Brethren after completing the Christian Growth Institute program. Terri enjoys serving all ages—from sharing stories with preschoolers, to playing 4-square with young people, to visiting and reminiscing with the more seasoned folks. Terri believes that the most effective way to share the Gospel is to let the overflowing love of Jesus pour out through us. Terri is married to Tom Luzynski and they have four grown children, four grandchildren, and one very spoiled cat.

Please bring your own lawn chair for seating. An offering will be taken to support the ongoing mission of the Heritage Center. Parking is available in the field at the top of our hill. Golf cart assistance is available for those who wish it; if handicap parking is needed at the bottom of the amphitheater, please request it when you arrive.

In case of inclement weather, the service will be moved to the Log House and parking signs will be relocated to that area.
