This week Worship in the Woods features meditation from Ron Wyrick and music from Vocal Chords.

Ron and Karen (Adams) Wyrick live in Rockingham County and attend the Bridgewater Church of the Brethren. They are the parents of Ben, Kimberley and Jonathan Wyrick. Ron’s full-time ministries included pastorates at the Keyser (WV), Montezuma, and Harrisonburg First Church of the Brethren congregations, as well as the Church of the Brethren General Board and Juniata College. He served as interim district executive minister for the Shenandoah District and as interim pastor at the Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren. Currently Ron volunteers with the Bridgewater Area Inter-Church Food Pantry and with Karis, a consignment furniture store and luncheon spot in Mt. Sidney. He enjoys Bible study and participates in the Men’s Bible Study held in the Park View Mennonite Church.

Created out of the Brethren Four two years ago by Jim Benedict and Richard Phillips, the Vocal Chords is a group of 7 men who enjoy singing. Programming gospel, barbershop, and traditional hymns, the group includes Jim Benedict, David Holl, Bob May, Richard Phillips, Fred Schwartz, Wayne Spangler, and Merv Wonderlick. Lorene May plays piano and Jim Benedict is the music director for the group. And they are always looking for new singers to join the group!
