This week Worship in the Woods features meditation from Robbie Miller and music from Senior Sound.
After graduating from Bethany Seminary in 1980, Robbie Miller served the Oakton Church of the Brethren for 3 years. After a 2 year hiatus on a construction crew in Richmond, Miller served as campus pastor at Eastern Mennonite College from 1988-1990. In the fall of 1990, he became chaplain at Bridgewater College, where he continues to serve nearly 30 years later. Robbie is married to Terri Gladwell Miller and they have two children, Rebekah and Stephen. Join us for his meditation at Worship in the Woods!
Senior Sound was founded some 20 years ago as “Singing Men” of VMRC. A group of 14 to 16 retirees who grew up with men’s a cappella singing (and just can’t quit!), they sing a wide range of choral works for men’s voices, standard hymns and anthems, Gospel, spirituals, and folk songs. Membership includes primarily residents of VMRC, but also singers from the wider community. Senior Sound appears regularly at VMRC holiday services and at vesper services. On occasion they accept invitations from local churches and organizations, and we are pleased the Heritage Center is one of them.
Worship in the Woods is the summer vespers series of the Brethren & Mennonite Heritage Center in Harrisonburg, VA. Join us Sundays at 7 PM from June 23 - Aug. 11 in the beautiful, outdoor, natural amphitheater.
