Our first “Worship in the Woods” service this summer isn’t in our woods—it will take place at Silver Lake in Dayton! Silver Lake Mill was built by Brethren in 1822, and this service will remember the Mill’s bicentennial and celebrate the rich Brethren and Mennonite history of the area.

Please bring your own lawn chair for seating. An offering will be taken to support the ongoing mission of the Heritage Center. Parking will be available adjacent to the Mill.

In case of inclement weather, the service will be moved inside the Mill.

This special service on June 26 will feature Dr. Myron Augsburger as speaker, with Paul Roth as worship leader and Sam Funkhouser leading the singing of historic Brethren hymns. Dr. Augsburger is a descendant of Daniel Bowman, a Brethren man who owned Silver Lake Mill for nearly five decades, including the difficult Civil War years.
